Race Report & Photos November 15th

A big thank you to all our competitors and supporters as always. Summer well and truly announced its impending arrival with the temperature soaring! Despite the heat, cool heads prevailed and some great racing was had!

Our Cadets took to the track first and it was Luke Wilson who continued his recent form topping the time sheet! Dylan Kammerlocher also continued his form from last round nestling into 2nd. It was great to see Alexander Nicolaysen round out the top 3 with a superb bit of driving! The Cadets drivers continue to improve themselves challenging one another to be better drivers, its refreshing to see the camaraderie off the track as well.
A special mention goes to Alexander Nicolaysen who won the encouragement award on the day. Alex was unfortunately taken out of podium contention 3 corners before the chequered flag. Also worthy of mentioning was Dylan Kammerlocher who was the only Cadet driver to score podiums in all 4 sessions!

Juniors Qualifying produced some of the closest qualifying we have had in some time with just a .059 gap from 1st to 4th! Carter Skewes would narrow out Jude Livermore by the tiniest of margins (.013 to be exact) Adam Rathbone put himself in the mix finishing .010 behind Jude and Luc Jacobsen would have to settle for 4th. Race 1 would see Carter Skewes have it fairly easy with the rest of the pack losing time battling one another. Race 2 and 3 would see the top 4 battling it out and exchanging places. The Juniors didnt let the heat affect their judgement with all drivers racing respectfully against one another. Everyone competing should be congratulated on this highly respected trait!

Opens Qualifying saw Liam and Clayton Hydes lay claim to the top 2 spots that they had to forfeit last race due to a penalty. Alex Jacovides rounded out the top 3. Race 1 would see Alex get ahead of Clayton to stick to the tail of Liam Hydes, the pair would put a 10 second gap on the rest of the field where Clayton Hydes was holding out Justin Holland for 3rd place. Our opens group has a wonderful mix of young on track the competition is tough but off track everyone leaves with a smile!
